Since passing under bridges is basically a prerequisite when it comes to a life at sea, it is no wonder why most mariners are utterly fascinated by -and possibly a bit fearful of- them. The new $6.8 billion eastern span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, which just opened this week following years of construction, is no different.   This high-definition timelapse was compiled from the nearly 2 million images taken from live streaming video and construction cameras which have been on site since 2008.…MORE

We have a HUGE responsibility to protect our children and their futures. Our Gulf of Mexico has nearly been destroyed by the Deep-water Horizon catastrophe and many families here will never recover.
