SpaceX Aborts Thanksgiving Rocket Launch

not-today-2Update for 6:45 pm ET: SpaceX called off its attempts to launch an upgraded Falcon 9 rocket carrying the SES-8 communication satellite today at 6:44 pm ET  after time ran out to complete a system check following an earlier abort, Falcon 9 product manager John Innsprucker said. The first abort was due to a lower than expected thrust during a 5:39 p.m. ET launch try. “We called manual abort. Better to be paranoid and wrong,” SpaceX chief Elon Musk wrote in a Twitter post. Musk said it will “likely be a few days before  next attempt.” Watch the 1st Launch Abort Video: SpaceX Thanksgiving Launch Aborted One Second Before Lift-off

About Indian Rocks Bridge

We have a HUGE responsibility to protect our children and their futures. Our Gulf of Mexico has nearly been destroyed by the Deep-water Horizon catastrophe and many families here will never recover. Paradise lost, so it goes. I’m doing my best to apolitically educate anyone that cares about the impact on our environment by technology and “for-profit” progress. We forget, too frequently that we SHARE this planet with millions of other life-forms and as the most “powerful” species, we must be more cognizant of our greed versus the well-being of our planet. Thanks again for visiting and please check back often. -Gregg
