Alaskan man fired for rescuing injured bald eagles

baldAn Adak man said he lost his city job for rescuing eagles injured by fire while scavenging food waste in the western Aleutian Island.   “I got fired over this,” said Keith Hamilton.   Hamilton said he started working at the dump in November, where his job involved transporting waste to the facility, and burning it. He said he was terminated in February, after sending six injured eagles to the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage.   1. Baby steps I guess, by the end of the article the guy gets his job back and the town agrees to build a wire cage around their burn pit. No word yet on how the fine folks of Adak are enjoying their exposure to the toxic gases generated by the burn pit…..
