Pygmy Sperm Whale found beached on Indian Shores dies

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH (FOX 13) –Onlookers witnessed an unusual and sad sight to start their Tuesday morning on Indian Shores beach. A 6-foot-6 pigmy sperm whale washed ashore, and then was later euthanized.   A frantic attempt to save the beached baby whale on the Pinellas County shore was unsuccessful, despite efforts from rescuers with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Florida Fish and Wildlife.…MORE

We have a HUGE responsibility to protect our children and their futures. Our Gulf of Mexico has nearly been destroyed by the Deep-water Horizon catastrophe and many families here will never recover.
